Description
The BS 16X HD+ Inset Electric Fire brings the warmth and glow of a real fire to your living room, without the mess, flue or chimney. Designed to fit standard 16-inch fireplace openings, its steel frame and slim 166mm depth make it a clean, contemporary focal point for an existing fireplace or a new surround.
Realistic HD+ LED flames can be tuned with 3 flame colours, adjustable speed and brightness, while LED downlights light up the fuel bed. Enjoy the flames on their own all year round, or add warmth with two heat settings, low and high, with a built-in thermostat and 7-day timer to keep your room just right.
Control everything from the remote or the touch panel on the fire, and finish the look with the log set, white pebbles or crystals included. It simply plugs into a standard household socket, with overheat protection built in for peace of mind.

Will the BS 16X fit my fireplace?
Yes, if you have a standard 16-inch fireplace opening.
The frame measures 500mm wide x 593mm high and the fire needs a recess at least 150mm deep. You'll also need a standard plug socket nearby. Full dimensions are in the Specification & Installation tab, or call us and we'll help you check.
Are they easy to install?
Yes — our electric fires are designed with straightforward installation in mind.
The BS 16X slots into your fireplace opening, fixes in place with the screws supplied and plugs into a standard socket. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver, and step-by-step instructions are included. A competent level of DIY experience is recommended.

Can I replace my old gas fire with the BS 16X?
Yes, it's a popular upgrade for marble and stone fireplaces that used to have a gas fire.
The BS 16X is designed for standard 16-inch fireplace openings, the size many older gas fires were fitted into, so it can often go straight into your existing marble surround. There's no flue or gas supply needed, just a standard plug socket nearby.
Your old gas fire must be removed and the gas supply safely capped off by a Gas Safe registered engineer before the BS 16X is fitted. Check your opening is at least 150mm deep, and call us if you'd like help measuring up.
Can I use the flame effect without the heat?
Yes, the flame effect works on its own with no heat.
Enjoy the flames all year round, then switch on low or high heat when you want extra warmth. The built-in thermostat, 7-day timer and open-window detection help you avoid using more heat than you need.
