What Are FluteSlat™ Wall Panels?

FluteSlat™ wall panels are premium fluted wall panels designed to add texture, depth, and architectural character to any room. Most commonly used to frame a media wall electric fire, they're equally at home as a standalone feature wall in a living room, bedroom, hallway, or dining room.

The distinctive vertical groove profile catches natural and artificial light throughout the day, creating a subtle shadow play that makes the wall feel alive even when the TV is off and the fire isn't running. It's the detail that elevates a media wall from a functional build to a genuine design statement.

The Three Profiles: London, Milan and Paris

FluteSlat™ panels are available in three profiles, each with a distinct character:

  • FluteSlat™ London - a classic, evenly-spaced flute profile with a timeless quality. Works beautifully in both contemporary and transitional interiors. The most versatile of the three and a popular choice for full media wall builds.
  • FluteSlat™ Milan - a refined, slightly narrower flute with a more tailored, European feel. Ideal for rooms with a clean, minimalist aesthetic where precision and restraint are the design language.
  • FluteSlat™ Paris - a bolder, wider flute profile that makes a stronger visual statement. Best suited to larger walls and grander rooms where the panel needs to hold its own against high ceilings and generous proportions.

Choosing Your Finish

Each profile is available in a range of finishes to complement your interior colour palette. Whether you're working with warm neutrals, deep moody tones, or crisp whites, there's a finish that will sit perfectly in your scheme.

As with the profile choice, we strongly recommend ordering physical samples before committing to a finish. Paint colours and panel finishes can look very different on screen versus in person, and the way your room's lighting hits the panel will affect the final result significantly.

How Many Packs Do You Need?

FluteSlat™ panels are sold by the pack, with each pack covering a set area. To calculate how many packs you need:

  1. Measure the total width of the wall area you want to panel (in metres)
  2. Measure the height you want to panel to (full ceiling height or a set dado height)
  3. Multiply width × height to get your total square meterage
  4. Add 10% for cuts and wastage

If you're building a full media wall with a fire and cupboards, remember to subtract the area of the fire opening and any cupboard faces that won't be panelled. Our Media Wall Packages take the guesswork out of this entirely the panel quantities are pre calculated for each package configuration.

Installation

FluteSlat™ panels are designed for straightforward installation using panel adhesive and/or discreet fixings. Panels can be cut to size with a fine-tooth saw for a precise fit around fire openings, sockets, and architectural features. Work from the centre of the wall outward for a symmetrical result, and always allow panels to acclimatise to the room temperature for 24 hours before fitting.
